Significant 45% total DVT relative risk reduction in hip replacement surgery patients
The NAFT* trial showed FRAGMIN was more effective than warfarin in early post-op dosing1

Primary endpoint was total DVT detection using contrast venography, performed 5.7 days (mean) after surgery. Secondary endpoint was incidence of proximal DVT.
Trial was multicentered (29 centers in the US and Canada) and double-blind. Patients randomized to preoperative FRAGMIN—initial injection 2 hours before surgery, and a second dose at least 4 hours postoperatively. Patients randomized to postoperative FRAGMIN—placebo injection immediately before surgery, and active injection at least
4 hours postoperatively. Patients randomized to postoperative warfarin—initial dose on the evening of surgery day.

In the North American FRAGMIN Trial (NAFT), 1472 patients undergoing elective hip arthroplasties were randomized to receive either FRAGMIN or warfarin.
